15.12.2014 - 15.12.2014
A lot has happened in the past two months and we are now within the 50 days to go window with a number of actions still to be completed. On the plus side the Medical Insurance claim has been finalised, the Brazil Visa has been granted and the required Argentina reciprocity fee has been paid.
On the medical side we've both been immunised for Yellow Fever and had our Cholera shots boosted. Both of these vaccines come at considerable expense. As the Yellow Fever shot is good for 10 years I don't think we'll need to renew that.
I've decided to try out a Prepaid Global Roaming SIM card for my mobile phone. I'll load that SIM when we leave Australia and take it out again when we get back. I tried one of these some years ago when we travelled around the world but didn't work out how to use it. I hope for a better experience this time.
Another new thing is a Global Currency Card preloaded with up to four of the elven available currencies. We'll start out simple with just the US Dollar loaded. The advantage (?) being that the the exchange rate is locked in. Great if the AU Dollar goes down any more not so good if it rockets up again.
In the next few weeks we have Christmas to prepare for and then there are some medical procedures to complete before we leave on 29 January. Our calendar looks very busy for this period.
Hope to update this blog again some days before we leave.

Wishing you a most festive Christmas and New Year period, good health and safe travel.
Have a great day and stay well.
Cheers .. Tony
