Preparations Ongoing

This trip has a 49 Day Cruise at its focus. We sail on the Ruby Princess from Ft Lauderdale on 31 January 215. We'll be flying from Canberra on the 29th with only a change of aircraft in Dallas/Fort Worth to break up the journey. We did try for a break in Honolulu after the marathon flight back from New York but the flights were booked months ago and are not refundable. Pity.

The following is a list of the places and countries we will be visiting in sequence. That is 23 places in 15 different countries. Quite a list and spread over a large part of the globe.

Ft Lauderdale
Antigua, Antigua & Barbuda
St Lucia
Trinidad, Trinidad & Tobago
Salvador, Brazil
Santos, Brazil
Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Montevideo, Uruguay
Falkland Islands
Ushuala, Tierra Del Fuego Argentina
Punta Arenas, Chile
Santiago, valparaiso Chile
La Serena, Coquimbo Chile
Pisco, san Martin Peru
Lima, callao Peru
Puntarenas, Costa Rica
San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua
Puerto Vallarte, Mexico
Los Angeles

There's a fair bit to do for this outing. One of the most important is the Visa Application, required for Brazil. Quite an extensive form to complete, fortunately that was completed on-line. The other documents required were photos to some exacting specifications, a copy of our 'complete' itinerary and recent bank statements. We've been told it will take up to 4 weeks to process the application.

To add to the activity I'm still waiting for my Travel Insurance claim to be processed. It has been lodged and so far there's been nothing to indicate there will be a delay. There's also the impact of my broken little finger, surprising how often it gets in the way.

Jenny has enthusiasticly selected a number of Shore Excursions, one in each of the Ports of Call. Should be an incredible trip.

More to come, stay well
Cheers ... Tony
