05.01.2015 - 05.01.2015
The countdown continues and we have just over three weeks to go before we set off for ft Lauderdale. Despite having lots of things still to do I'm quite relaxed and don't feel that sense of urgency that normally comes with these outings. Perhaps the excitement has worn off during this lengthy preparation.
Christmas was very low-key and the transition to 2015 quite unremarkable. The only notable events being the frequent violent thunderstorms and the amount of rain we've recorded over the past month or so. Another item of some interest was pet-sitting for the lady next door. She has an exuberant Labrador dog, a strange looking rabbit and three young hens. She left us with detailed feeding instructions that covered both sides of the sheet of paper. In practise it turned out to be much simpler than the instructions indicated.
I've notified the bank, DVA and Social Security of our intended absence. It will be interesting to see if there is any consequences as a result of the length of our absence. So far so good. We still have to stop the postal deliveries and make sure that periodic payments are scheduled. It is quite incredible how much can be arranged on-line. There is also a need to confirm that our Shareholder Benefit is recorded in our on-board account.
I'll slip in another update before we take off, failing that, the next update could be from Ft Lauderdale.

Wishing you good health and safe travel.
Have a great day and stay well.
